I am just finishing up Spring Break for this year, and let me tell you, it is sad that I have to go back to work on Monday. I went to visit my parents last week, and my mom and I took a mini-vacation to Victoria, B.C. We had a blast! We toured Butchart Gardens, and some of the spring flowers were in bloom. The landscaping itself is gorgeous. We walked around Victoria, and we bought some bath soaps and bath bombs from this store called Lush. They smell fabulous and they make your skin so soft! I bought some violet soap and ginger soap-both I highly recommend! We stayed at the Delta Oceanpoint resort and it was great! Our room was fantastic-we had full views of the Harbor and the service was wonderful. Their restaurant, Lure, had the best steamed mussels my mom and I have ever had. They also have a pineapple martini to die for. On the last day, we had high tea at The Empress hotel-it was so tasty! I felt like I was back in time through the entire lunch. When we got back, my dad and I went clam digging. He cooked the clams the following night and they were delicious. My mom's recipe for nectar is tasty! I will upload the page when I complete it.
In other news, we are still living partially in the garage. We have a few more things to bring in, but FINALLY all of the major stuff is in. The problem now is the lawn. Chris left it for me to design and figure out who will do the landscaping. Fortunately, we got a good chunk of change from our tax return, so we will be investing some of it, and the rest goes to the "backyard improvement fund".
Chris has been working a ton of hours this month. I miss him, and it makes me crabby when he isn't around. He got a promotion at work, although I don't think it is worth the money atm. Hopefully, it will get better when Spring training is over at the end of the month.
My parents are doing well. My dad rolled around in some poison oak last week as he was cutting a path through the jungle along the cliff under my parent's house. My mom picked it up doing his dirty laundry. Thank god I missed that one. I had poison oak once after I came back from summer camp, and it is NO FUN.
Trying to scrapbook a bit more this month. Last month, I was obsessed with EQ, so hopefully, I can get some done.
Here is my February scrap page to wrap up that month.
Have a good one!
