It's September now, which means that I am about a month into the school year. So far, everything is going well. The kids are great, classes are great, and I feel like I am finally ahead. I am using alot of information from my Thinking Maps training this summer, and when I trained the staff, they really seemed to get alot out of it.
The trip to New York was a blast! The teachers I was with at Columbia were great. We went out and drank alot, we listened to lectures, went on a tour of Harlem and the Lower East side. I ate the best Reuben sandwich EVER and had the best southern food ever. Coming back from Times Square a few of us were hit by a drunk driver in a taxi. Fortunately no one was hurt, but it was still scary. We walked the rest of the way after that. I of course saw the Statue of Liberty and Rockefeller Center. We got lost in Harlem-so much so that I finally had to ask a police officer how to get back to Columbia.
Chris is doing well. He just finished a bid for US Bank to do the Northwestern Region. We will find out in October if he gets it. He has been like a grizzly bear, all stressed out and stuff, so on somedays it hasn't been a whole lot of fun.
Macy is great! She just got over having hand, foot, and mouth disease. She has been sucking her thumb alot lately so she has blisters. She can feed herself with a spoon now, so we don't have to assist her too much anymore. She will pretty much eat most anything still. She is learning more words-today was "raccoon". Mimi is teaching her how to shake hands. She has also been practicing standing on one foot and sticking her face in the water of the bath tub.
