So on March 23rd (Friday), 2007, our little Macy Jane was born at 10:40 in the morning at Arrowhead hospital. she weighed 8lbs and 12 oz and was 20 inches long. She is so cute! After 30 hurs of labor, Dr. McKernan decided to go with the c-section (I had a fever) and so they took me to surgery and she was born about 10 minutes later. I remember hearing her first cry and thinking "Oh My God!" It was so exciting-! Here are are few pictures of her birth.
After about 3 days in recovery, the doctors diagnosed her with a heart murmur (essentially, she has 4 really tiny holes in her heart. She ended up being in the NICU for about a week before we could take her home. It was an awful feeling-she was fine ultimately, but it was still horrible for me and Chris.
So, she has been home now for a few weeks, and we are on a schedule. She usually eats every three hours during the day and about every 3-4 at night. She has about one to two fussy periods throughtout a 24 hour period, but fortunately (knock on wood) she can be soothed relatively easily.
So we are doing pretty well now! Chris and I are living on about six hours of sleep. This should get better in a few weeks hopefully.
Off to soothe baby!
