Chris and I made it through the first six weeks with Macy! It was almost to the day that she has begun sleeping 5-6 hours straight at night. The book that Audra gave me Healthy Sleep Habits, Healthy Child seems to be right on the money so far! Here is the clinic's webpage.
Macy is doing well, although she has cradle cap (we call it cradle crap). We wash her with special adult shampoo and lotion that unfortunately does not smell like baby. But, it slowly seems to be working.
She also seems to have inconsistent bowel movements. It is kinda fun to watch her try and poop--she scrunches up and grunts and makes all sorts of entertaining noises. Believe it, but we are actually happy when she poops, because then we know her digestive system is working okay. I am still going to mention it at the next doctor appt.
Because she was in the NICU at Arrowhead for a few days, we were able to sign up for this developmental program through the state of Arizona. They provide all sorts of services for free-in fact, a nurse is coming out to the house on Tuesday to meet Macy, so I plan on mentioning the constipation and the cradle cap to her to see what she says.
As for Chris and I, we have had our first semi-relaxing weekend in six weeks. Today, Macy slept really well, so we were able to play civilization at least 4 hours today. Chris took a nap, and I did some scrapbooking. FINALL Y.
Linda and John have offered to pay for countertops for the house. We went to some counter place the other day to pick up some samples, and we have chosen one-the contractor will be coming out next week sometime.
Next week I go back to work-ugh. I had a dream about going back last night-I dreamed I went back a week early and was totally unprepared. I am looking forward to it-it will be a nice two week break before summer. Don't get me wrong-I love spending time with Macy, yet, I do want to a little change during the daytime for a bit.
