Here is Macy and I when she was five months old (in August). She is so cute! At five months, she was crawling all over, sitting up by herself, eating from her high chair, screaming and making all sorts of sounds. Now, she is seven months, and she is pulling herself up into a standing position, playing in the bathtub, turning pages of books, eating little "cookies" and we just tried out chicken for dinner this last week. It is crazy how fast she is developing. We went to the pumpkin patch last weekend, and although we couldn't really do a whole lot, we did go through the corn maze and she kept grabbing the corn stalks. We checked out the animals in the petting zoo and bought some zucchini. We got to see an ostrich take a dump, which was probably the highlight of the day, as it was totally disgusting.
Things here are going well. Chris is back from his travels to Washington, Utah, and Spain. He is finally home to help around here, thank god. I don't know how single mom's do it. Of course, we are still too lazy to clean the house much. I am thinking about having the housekeeper come every two weeks rather than once a month.
We had a landscaping come out to the house and gut the yard. They removed all the dead plants and the grass. So now, it looks like a barren wasteland with rock. I don't even want to go out there, it is so unattractive. But, the next item on the lawn agenda is rock removal, sprinkler and water system replacement, curbing, grass, plants and decorative rock. Then, we will put in a play area for Macy.
Work is good, although it is busy. I finished up parent conferences, and it was nice. I had lots of compliments from parents saying their kids were learning AND having fun. That just makes it all worthwhile, I think. I won the TAH grant, so I taking some graduate courses through ASU for the next two years. I get to go on a trip to do research over the summer, so I am currently trying to decide where to go. I am also getting a student teacher intern on Monday. I am sure it will be crazy. It seems like yesterday that I was going through my student teaching, and now I am training someone..yikes!
On the weightloss front, I have reached a size 10 now, so only one more size to drop, and then I will be back to pre-pregnancy size. I have started running again (although only about three times a week). I haven't ran since college, but it does feel good to be out doing it again.
I haven't done any scrapbooking since the summer. Just haven't felt the creative vibe. Primarily, I have been playing EQ2, but they banned my account so I couldn't play. But, I finally called, and they fixed it and gave me some free play time, which is cool.
Well, off to get some pictures and update my blog title!
